GO INDIA FOUNDATION LAUNCHED NATIONWIDE BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN

IN INDIA “HUM LAAL BHARAT MAA KEY”

In India around 8 million units of blood every year in our country needed but only half can be obtained from voluntary blood donors. Rest all comes from replacement blood donation from relatives or paid donors.

GO INDIA FOUNDATION under the leadership of Ms Alka Lamba felt the need of hour and thus decided to show the united effort of our great Nation. We have targeted for 63,000 units of Blood from all over India on our National festival i.e. 63rd Independence Day. Our target is to provide India 100% Safe Voluntary Blood, so that the need of replacement donation never arises.

This campaign will be held in around 70 cities across India on 15^th August 2010 from 8am to 5pm.Donors will get a Free medical examination, Souvenir and Certificate along with the Replacement Donor Card which they can use for their future need, if arises. Refreshment will also be served to all Donors.

According to Ms Alka Lamba, Chairperson, Go India Foundation, “We wish to inspire and motivate the youth of India to make Blood Donation as a part of their routine every 3 months. They should make it a part of their life to motivate and educate others on this issue. This is unfortunate to hear this that in this country of youths there are thousands of people dying just because of the unavailability of blood on time. This is our initiative to awake the youth and then to make this a habit afterwards.” She also added, “This campaign is going to organize on 15^thAugust, keeping in view the sacrifice of our freedom fighters and defence personnel who are giving their lives at Indian borders to keep us safe. This national festival should be kept above all religions, caste and politics and thus this campaign should be. So, we want to make this campaign totally non-political and appeal to all citizens of India to be a part of history by achieving the target of 63000 units in a single day.”

This campaign will add a new record in world history and will be a part of Limca & Guinness Book of World records. All the people who will be a part of this campaign will feel proud to be associated with this.
